Patrick has over 10-years of substantial experience working in the humanitarian sectors and multicultural environments. Patrick has a Masters’ degree in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph, where he received training in program evaluation and research methods by Dr. Cummings. At the University of Guelph, he worked under Harry’s supervision as a research assistant on two projects. Patrick grew up in Bujumbura and did his undergraduate studies at Light University of Bujumbura. Patrick is an experienced humanitarian and international development professional in program development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
He has traveled and worked with International NGOs and United Nations agencies in East African and West African countries, including; Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, Rwanda, Central African Republic, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Cameroon. He speaks fluent Swahili, English, and French. His area of expertise includes emergency and early recovery program development, implementation, and Evaluation. His experience range from conflict affected to Ebola context developing and implementing multi-sectoral responses including;, food security, education, WASH, shelter, livelihood, protection, local governance and institutional support to farmers’ organizations.
