David has a Master’s Degree from the University of Guelph in Rural Planning and Development and a Bachelor of Education from the Memorial University of Newfoundland. David’s specialties include participatory/community-based research, program evaluation design, as well as qualitative and quantitative assessment. His background in education is the foundation for a wide variety of training and capacity building experience. He also brings over 6 years of experience working with indigenous communities in the Canadian north as a teacher and development advisor. David’s international experience involved field work in 7 countries throughout sub-Saharan and West Africa, as well as remote work supporting evaluation and research initiatives in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
David is an active community volunteer and musician who serves on the board of directors for the Canada Africa Partnership Network and the Guelph Concert Band. He is also a member of the Guelph-based salsa band Son de la Guayra and is an active sports fan.
